Bible Helper

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Barry Good LLC ("we," "us") handles information in the Bible Helper Android app (the "app"). We built Bible Helper to be private by default: it does not show ads, does not track you for marketing, and does not sell your data. This policy tells you exactly what is collected, why, and how to remove it.

What we collect and why

1. Account information

Bible Helper works without an account. If you choose to sign in — to sync and back up your data across devices — you sign in with Google or Apple, and we receive basic account details from that provider: your email address, name, and (if available) your profile photo. This is handled through Firebase Authentication (a Google service) and is used only to identify your account and associate your synced data with it.

2. Your content

When you are signed in, the content you create in the app is stored in your private, account-scoped space in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) so it can sync across your devices and be restored if you reinstall. This includes: saved passages and their history, memory cards, notes and note folders, labels, series (collections), and your app preferences and settings. This content is associated with your account and is not shared with other users or sold to anyone.

3. Crash and diagnostic data

To find and fix problems, the app uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to collect crash reports and basic diagnostic information when the app crashes or errors — for example, the crash stack trace, your device model, and your operating-system version. This data is used only to improve the app's stability. Development ("debug") builds are excluded from crash collection.

What we do NOT collect

Third parties

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the app:

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or other independent purposes.

How your data is protected

Data transmitted between the app and our services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your synced content is restricted to your authenticated account.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your synced content and account for as long as your account exists. You are in control and can delete everything at any time:

Content stored only on your device (while signed out) is removed when you delete the app.

Using the app without an account

You can use Bible Helper's on-device features without signing in, and while you are signed out none of your data leaves your device. Some features require an account: fetching new passage text, and syncing or backing up your data across devices.

Children's privacy

Bible Helper is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated policy at this URL. Material changes will be reflected here.
